Can you hire a sherwani in the UK?
Not from us, and probably not well from anyone. We hired sherwanis for years and stopped. Here is what actually goes wrong.
The shoulder is the whole problem
A suit can be taken in. A sherwani mostly cannot. It sits on the shoulder and the chest — the two places tailoring cannot fake. A hem comes up and a waist comes in, but a shoulder cut for another man stays his. You see it immediately in photographs, and photographs are the whole point of the day.
Every sherwani we make is worked to eighteen measurements and a body scan. A hired one is worked to an average.
You get the pieces nobody bought
Hire stock is chosen for how it survives a season, not for how it looks on the third wearing. The good cloth goes to the grooms who buy. What is left on the hire rail is the plainer end of a range.
And the saving is smaller than it looks
A decent hire in the UK runs to a few hundred pounds, and on Monday you hand it back. A finished sherwani from our rack starts at £290, is altered free, and stays yours.

- There is a rack in our Solihull showroom. Everything on it is physically in the room today and can be altered and taken home the same week.
