Can a Sherwani Be Made Without Visiting the Showroom?
# Can a Sherwani Be Made Without Visiting the Showroom?
Yes. A bespoke sherwani can be made entirely by video — the same eighteen measurements, taken by you on camera with a stylist talking you through each one, checked before anything is cut, and shipped when it is finished. We fit grooms in the United States, across Europe and in parts of Canada we have no showroom near, and none of them set foot in Solihull or Mississauga.
## What actually happens in a virtual sherwani consultation
The consultation is a video call and it is free. Your stylist screen-shares the collection, you talk through your events, your dates and what the bride is wearing, and you narrow to a shortlist. Fabric swatches go in the post for the finalists, so the last decision is made with the cloth in your hand rather than on a screen — colour is the one thing a camera cannot be trusted on.
Measurements come next. There is a measurement form and a video guide, and the stylist walks you through each of the eighteen live on the call and checks them as you go. Have someone with you and a soft tape; that is the whole equipment list. Nothing is cut until the numbers have been verified.
## What you give up, honestly
You lose the fittings. In the showroom a bespoke sherwani gets three, and that is where the last five per cent of the fit happens. Remotely we build in more tolerance and get it very close, but “very close” is not the same as pinned on your body twice.
And you lose time. A showroom order runs eight to twelve weeks plus fittings. **A showroom order and a virtual order are built to the same comfort date — the day the pieces are in your hands with room before the wedding. A virtual order simply needs more runway inside it: shipping, the swatch round trip and any alteration after delivery all sit in there. We work back from your date on the call and tell you honestly whether it’s achievable.** Grooms who come to us six weeks out are better served by the ready-to-wear rail.
On alterations: send the piece back to the showroom and we handle it, or we arrange a local alterations tailor and work with them.
## The part that does not change
We never match the bride. We complement her. That judgement is the actual product, and it does not need you in the room — it needs the stylist to know what she is wearing, which event is which, and what you have booked. A groom who sends three photographs of her outfit gets a better recommendation than one who walks in with nothing.
Brides now wear extraordinarily heavy outfits, and **a groom in something plain next to a heavily-dressed bride doesn’t read as understated. He reads as her driver.** Getting that call right is a conversation, not a fitting.
## Frequently asked
**Can you ship internationally?**
Yes, worldwide.
**How accurate are remote measurements?**
Accurate enough to cut from, because they are verified on the call rather than submitted on a form and trusted. The risk is not the tape, it is nobody checking — which is why the call exists.
**Do I need to pay before seeing anything?**
The consultation is free and carries no obligation. Swatches are sent before you order.
**What if it does not fit when it arrives?**
Return it to Solihull or Mississauga for alteration, or we will help you arrange it locally.
**Is it cheaper than coming in?**
No. It is the same piece and the same price — from £850 in the UK and CA$1,490 in Canada. What you are buying with a video call is reach, not a discount.
